Pilot

"A rather condign punishment for the girl, I say." He brushed the dirt off his snakeskin boots. "She can't keep what she can't afford."

She couldn't believe she was being disseised of her land so soon. It hadn't even been four months since she inherited the forty acres, and now she was going to lose it - all because some haughty cowboy wannabe wants to show off in front of his boys. How was she to know it wasn't paid for?

She pulled her sister in close by her side.

"So, what's it gonna be? If you want to keep this patch of garbage so badly, I'm sure there are... other things you could give up," he said, licking his cracked, malicious smirk. His lust was a primordial characteristic. All his friends knew it. He was taught no morals - given no parables as a boy.

There was only one thing she could do. To her, it was unthinkable; but with what little she had left, she had to give up what was least important to her at the time. And between her sister, her mother's land, and her dignity, the choice was easy.

Today's words: condign, parable, disseise, haughty, and primordial
